Beware of share fraudsters

Shareholders are cautioned to be very wary of any unsolicited telephone calls about your shares in Wynnstay, including those advising of a “recent takeover” and with offers to buy your shares or sell them for you and to act urgently.

We have just been made aware that some of our shareholders are receiving unsolicited phone calls or letters from individuals or companies, some alleging that Wynnstay has been the subject of a takeover, which is totally untrue,  and using the names of senior people from our registrars, Capita Registrars, offering to buy or sell Wynnstay shares on favourable terms and that shareholders must take action in a matter of days.

These communications are part of a "scam" and you are strongly encouraged to ignore them and to take the following steps:

  • Obtain the full name of the person and organisation and make a record of any other information they give you e.g. telephone number, business name, name of the individual calling, address, web address.
  • If they refuses to give their details, use the 1471 facility on your phone to try and recover their number
  • If the caller persists, simply hang up.

Report the matter to the FCA so that they can investigate. You are able to do this online at the FCA's website or by calling them on 0800 111 6768.
